Plant Profile – Sansevieria trifasciata

Sansevieria trifasciata is one of the easiest to care for houseplants. This striking succulent has stunning thick leaves, upright and erect in dark green with mottled bands. It will grow indoors and outside making this plant suitable for every houseplant enthusiast.

Stunning, succulent & erect leaves, dark green with mottled bands of a lighter colour. Golden and deep cream stripes feature on the rim of the laurenti leaves. Native to West Africa. There are several varieties of Sansevieria all of which are easy care and perfect beginner houseplants.


Bright indirect light/ Part shade, will tolerate low light. 


Water when just dry. Will cope with periods of dryness. Water thoroughly when watering and allow to completely drain (do not sit in water for extended periods)  


Height: 38-45 cm 

Spread: 15-20 cm


High quality cacti & succulent mix or very well draining soil.


Liquid or slow release fertiliser is recommended to be applied during in the warmer months, choose one suitable for your houseplants and always follow the instructions on the pack for measurements and frequency. This plant doesn’t require fertiliser in the   cold of winter. 


Follow the above!  When choosing a pot - pick one with a drainage hole, and use a saucer to catch escaping water. Empty the saucer after watering.  This plant will need repotting only when the roots fill the pot, then repot in Spring
