
The versatile cast iron plant, Aspidistra elatior is one of the easiest to care for houseplants. Thriving in dimly lit spaces and poor ventilation Aspidistra will grow indoors and out. With large arching, lanceolate, leaves which are deep & glossy dark green in colour, this plant is suitable for every houseplant enthusiast.

This houseplant is one of the most resilient and easy care indoor plants on the market. The cast iron plant has survived under the worst of living conditions, including but not limited to; draughts, fumes, Low temperatures and low light. Aspidistra elatior will thrive in good conditions but is a low grower. With deep dark green foliage and native to china, cast iron plant is an excellent choice for beginner houseplant enthusiasts.

Bright, indirect light or part shade outside. This plant will tolerate low light.
WATER
Just moist, you can allow the top layer of soil to dry between drinks, however don’t leave dry for too long. Aspidistra enjoys a mist spray frequently in the summer months.

High quality premium potting mix or loam & peat based mix.
FERTILISER
Liquid or slow release fertiliser is recommended to be applied during in the warmer months, choose one suitable for your houseplants and always follow the instructions on the pack for measurements and frequency. This plant doesn’t require fertiliser in the cold of winter.
CARE TIPS
Follow the above! When choosing a pot - pick one with a drainage hole, and use a saucer to catch escaping water. Empty the saucer after watering. May need repotting every 12 months in the spring when the roots fill the pot.
